Event Background

The KM Cluster is a worldwide knowledge management (KM) leadership community. The greater Cleveland area community event gathering is on Friday, April 2, 2004 from 9:00 – 12:30 at the NASA Glenn Research Center.

The event theme is Communities: Next Practices is sponsored by Cuyahoga Community College and NASA Glenn Research Center. It is open to the public and lunch will be provided. In addition to the presentations, participants will have an opportunity to meet KM practioners and business professionals.

Communities: Next Practices will examine communities of practice and learning communities in and across organizations. Communities are networks of people within and sometimes, outside of an organization that come together around a particular topic to collaborate, innovate, address challenges, share what they know, and create new knowledge and information related to that topic.

Presenters include:

- Kathy Valderrama, Knowledge Architect, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young
- Valdis Krebs, Management Consultant, OrgNet
- Anita Alexander, NASA, KM Working Group
- Jim Lee, Senior KM Advisor, American Productivity and Quality Center
- Amy Eugene, Director of Knowledge Management, Cuyahoga Community College

The Cleveland KM Cluster is devoted to creating a common understanding, shared vision and focused action regarding applied KM and enterprise collaboration. The mission of the Cleveland KM Cluster is to fundamentally advance the art and science of KM and its application to business, industry, education and non-profits.
