Event Theme

Knowledge is the ability to act on information to improve life. The field of knowledge management is deeply rooted in finding innovative ways for organizations to improve the lives of their customers, employees and shareholders.

Certainly innovation and the knowledge required to access it is one of the major engines of the US economy. From the technology boom to biotechnology and healthcare, new innovations are what keep the economy humming. How do we maintain our edge?

One way is certainly through attracting creative people. Denver Mayor Hickenlooper is actively promoting the building of a "Creative Class" in Denver.

People are only part of the equation in fundamentally advancing innovation. Innovation is becoming more and more science than art - and any organization can learn skills in mastering the complex interaction between people, process, and technology that allow innovation to flourish.

On June 18th, in Denver, we will explore how to apply the tools and techniques needed to answer the following innovation questions:

- How can science-driven organizations become more creative?

- How can we select out the content we need from a sea of information?

- How can we deliver information to the right person at the right time so that they can act?

- How do we make the collective ideas and information of the people in the organization actionable?

- How can we integrate problem-solving into the core of the organization?

- How do we then speed problem-solving to find better solutions faster?

Knowledge management is now finding that there are many tools and techniques available to every organization that makes innovation the bowsprit of customer delight, financial performance and community responsibility.

We look forward to sharing these skills with you on June 18th at the Brown Palace. Participation is limited to improve the quality of conversation and the sharing of knowledge. - Leonard Kish, Rocky Mountain KM Cluster, kish@knowledgecontinuity.org (303) 564-8087.
