Event Theme

Today, many stock prices are composed nearly entirely of intangibles assets. This evolution is because companies are knowledge-based. Effective, strategic KM practices have a direct relationship on increased stock price. The KM leadership and practioner challenge has been in value measurement.

It is critical to master this linkage between KM and stakeholder value. The measurement of intangibles or Intellectual Capital Assets (ICAs) is an aggressive, global KM effort. One definition of intellectual capital is "Knowledge Convertible to Profit."

How well organizational systems begin to drive strategic KM and its key mechanism of intangible assets, and provide investment accordingly, is central to performance improvement, productivity, competitiveness and growth.

Also impacted is human capital. Often erroneously viewed as a cost, in the strategic KM world of intangible assets, human capital is a substantial value creator for all stakeholders.

How do you adjust your view of performance and leadership behaviors in this new world of intangible assets?

The SFO Spring 2004 KM Cluster will examine and elaborate different intangible assets metrics and measurement techniques. Particular focus will be on the importance of strategic KM to such key intangible assets as organizational capital, brand and relationships.

The overwhelming importance of strategic KM and intangibles to leading measurement systems for enterprise performance management will be closely examined. The global efforts underway to relate intangible performance to investor value will be discussed in detail. This will include Next Practice KM techniques, metrics, methods and models.

Please register and join your distinguished panel and colleagues for this community event.
